      According to her son, Effie always went by her middle name, Estella.

      Here is how Ira and Effie met:
      Ira and a friend took a small boat--probably a canoe, and set out from Michigan to New Orleans,
      via the St Joseph River to the Wabash River to the Mississippi River. On their way, they stopped
      at a place on the Wabash River. That place belonged to Effie's Dad, who was a doctor.

      Long story made short, Ira and Effie ended up falling in love and getting married.
      How's that for romance?

      Effie died on Feb 16, which was Ira's birthday.

      Effie was buried in Union Cemetery, in Whiteford Township, Monroe county, MI. She was raised
      in Marshall, Illinois. (where Ira found her on the river).

      Estella E. Morrill

      Mrs. Estella E. Morrill, 84, of 3374 Brock Dr., died Friday in Toledo Hospital.

      Born in Marshall, Ill., she lived in the Trilby area 62 years. Mrs. Morrill was a member of Trilby
      Methodist Church, and Sylvania Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

      Surviving are her husband Ira, sons Orville, Richard, Howard and John, all of Toledo, and
      Hubert, Whiteford, Mich., eight grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

      Services will be Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the H. H. Birkencamp Mortuary, Trilby, with burial at
      Union Cemetery.
